MHEL CEDRIC D. BENDO, BSENTREP

BIOGRAPHY 

Mhel Cedric D. Bendo is a student researcher and opinion writer.  His research focuses on Educational Psychology, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Measurement and Evaluation, and Educational Technology.  He applies quantitative, psychometric, and mixed-methods approaches to explore various aspects of instructional effectiveness, and technology-mediated learning, including AI-based detection  and the interpretation of educational constructs across diverse learning environments.  Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP). Alongside his formal training, he has developed a focused research in educational measurement and further honed his strategic skills through case-study analysis in salary negotiation and market leverage at Harvard Business School Online.

As of 2026, Bendo serves as an Editorial Board Member of the SIAR-Global Journal of Humanities, Management & Educational Review and the education section of the SIAR-Global Journal of Literatures & Educational Review, where he contributes peer-review support and subject-area feedback on submitted manuscripts in educational and interdisciplinary fields.

As of February 2026, he also serves as an Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Exploration (IJMRE), assisting in manuscript evaluation and providing methodological feedback on research design and reporting clarity. He is also an Editorial Board Member and Review and Technical Committee Member of the International Journal of Advanced Multidisciplinary Application (IJAMA), where he participates in manuscript review and technical assessment of submitted research.
Bendo also serves as an invited peer reviewer for several international peer-reviewed journals in education and learning sciences.
Beyond empirical research, Bendo contributes to academic discourse through research-informed commentary and opinion pieces that bridge theory, classroom practice, and educational policy. His work appears in leading national and regional outlets, including the Punto! Central Luzon, Daily Guardian, Mindanao Times, SunStar Cebu, Business Mirror, Manila Bulletin, and the Philippine Daily Inquirer — the Philippines’ leading national daily and one of the most influential newspapers in Southeast Asia — covering topics such as digital distractions, artificial intelligence in education, academic integrity, and inclusive learning. He also engages in reflective writing, including essays and poetry, offering insights into learning, identity, and educational equity.

PEER-REVIEW ACTIVITY

Bendo serves as an Invited Peer Reviewer for the Online Learning Journal (OLJ), an international, open-access, peer-reviewed journal published by the Online Learning Consortium and indexed in major databases including Web of Science (ESCI), Scopus (Q1, SCImago), ERIC, and DOAJ; the International Journal of Evaluation and Research in Education (IJERE), an internationally recognized Scopus-indexed Q2 journal published by IAES; and the Journal of Learning for Development (JL4D), a Scopus-indexed (Q3, SCImago)  international journal published by the Commonwealth of Learning. 
He also serves as a Reviewer for Communications in Information Literacy (CIL), a Scopus-indexed (Q1, SCImago) international peer-reviewed journal that publishes scholarship on information literacy, critical pedagogy, and scholarly communication. He is further invited to serve as an Invited Peer Reviewer for the Journal of Research, Innovation, and Strategies for Education (RISE), the Journal of Educational Technology and Learning Creativity (JETLC), and the Integrated Science Education Journal (ISEJ), interdisciplinary journals dedicated to advancing educational research, innovation, and technology-integrated learning across diverse contexts. He is also an Invited Peer Reviewer for the World Journal on Educational Technology: Current Issues (WJET), an international peer-reviewed journal focusing on emerging technologies, digital learning environments, and innovation in technology-enhanced education.
In addition, he serves as an Invited Peer Reviewer for Circuit: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Teknik Elektro, reviewing engineering and technology-focused education research. He also serves as an Invited Peer Reviewer for Jurnal Inovasi Teknologi Pendidikan (JITP), a peer-reviewed journal that publishes research and innovative work in educational technology, particularly in educational multimedia and e-learning development, bridging academic research and practical applications in schools and educational institutions. Additionally, serves as an Invited Peer Reviewer for the International Journal of Management and Human Sciences (IJMHS), a peer-reviewed journal that disseminates research across management, business administration, human sciences, and interdisciplinary social studies, where he contributes to the evaluation of research design, methodological clarity, and applied quantitative scholarship.
 
He also serves as an Invited Peer Reviewer for international undergraduate research journals, including Spectrum: Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Research, a peer-reviewed academic journal supported by the Undergraduate Research Initiative at the University of Alberta, and Reinvention: An International Journal of Undergraduate Research. Across these appointments, he reviews empirical studies, systematic literature reviews, and bibliometric analyses, with sustained emphasis on methodological rigor, educational relevance, and scholarly integrity in undergraduate and international research contexts.

His scholarly service further extends to the health sciences. He also serves as a Reviewer for the Journal of Student-Run Clinics (JSRC), an open-access, peer-reviewed journal highlighting innovations and research from student-run free clinics worldwide. In addition, he serves as an Invited Peer Reviewer for the Malaysian Journal of Medical Research (MJMR), an international, open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by Lincoln University College, Malaysia, which focuses on multidisciplinary research across the health sciences, including medicine, physiology, public health, and medical education. In these roles, he evaluates empirical health research with particular attention to statistical modeling, methodological rigor, and reporting standards in quantitative and interdisciplinary studies.

Bendo is currently advancing multiple manuscripts under consideration in international peer-reviewed journals, focusing on psychometric rigor, advanced quantitative methods, and technology-mediated educational behaviors. His research spans areas such as education, psychology, digital learning environments, and AI in education, with several works at various stages of the review process. This reflects his commitment to innovative measurement techniques and the real-world application of his findings in both educational psychology and educational technology.
